Gibbins Richards formed in 1991, created by two young and adventurous estate agents Mark Gibbins and Marc Richards. They were bolstered in 2007 when Simon Evans became a Director. Their first office was in Taunton High Street, closely followed by a High Street office in Bridgwater. They opened in Wellington opposite Waitrose in 2011. In December 2019, the sales division was taken over by Ben Grant & Nick Girone-Maddocks, with the lettings division being retained by Mark, Marc & Simon who continue to remain as consultants for the sales division.

We have over 30 wonderful people who work with us at Gibbins Richards. They are very different, dedicated and hard working individuals who each bring something unique to our business. Results driven and rewarded for success, we are sure you will find them a pleasure to work with in our collective goal of getting your home sold.



Somerset born and bred, Ben first starting working in estate agency in the late 1990s and came to work for Gibbins Richards in 2003. He quickly progressed to become Sales Manager at the Bridgwater branch before becoming company Director in 2019. Outside of work Ben is a keen cyclist with an active social life. Most of his spare time is spent with his wife, Kate and daughter, Orla.


Nick grew up in North Devon and started working as a trainee estate agent in the mid-90s. He then moved to London to learn the trade and in 2000 moved to Somerset. He’s spent the last 20 years working for various companies, before settling with Gibbins Richards in 2011. He’s well known as a keen musician, and loves guitars, fishing and cycling. He’s married to Layla and has Lily (16) and Rufus (12)

Joined Gibbins Richards in 2010 having previously travelled the world. A superb ability to match the right property to the right buyer.

Sally joined Gibbins Richards in 2002. She offers excellent and experienced advice to buyers and sellers alike. One of our longest serving members of staff and has lived locally for many years.

With Gibbins Richards since 2010, Donna has been in estate agency for over 8 years. A wonderfully cheerful and enthusiastic member of our team. She can sell a property “in a heart beat!”


Joined Gibbins Richards in 2007, responsible for coordinating the important business things for Mark, Marc and Simon.


The backbone of our extremely busy office, Michelle is, quite simply, a wonderful administrator who we couldn’t be without.

Financial Controller

Becky has worked in the accountancy field for all her working life. She looks after our financial matters and also our human resources functions.


‘Making Home Moves Happen’ is the catch phrase of Mike Our Move Manager. His sole job is to progress your sale from sale agreed to completion. He will update you on a more than regular basis.

Sales Negotiator

Jennifer is Taunton office’s latest and keenest recruit. Educated and raised locally Jennifer has a very good knowledge of the local area. She has previous experience in sales and customer service and is proving to be a great asset to our team.

Jacqueline joined our team in 2016 and comes from a sales background. She is an enthusiastic team member and always delivers a positive approach to both seller and buyer alike.

Celina joined Gibbins Richards as a viewings negotiator and carries an abundance of enthusiasm and local knowledge. Celina is always happy to help


Sales Manager

Heather worked amongst Somerset estate agents during the 1990’s, and returned to agency in 2014 after a distinguished career with the Daily Mail Group. Very familiar with the Bridgwater area, Heather is thoroughly enjoying getting involved in the business of selling homes once again! Outside of office hours Heather spends most of her time with her horse, Jonty!

LISA Haines

Secretary to the Bridgwater office, providing stability and administrative order! Lisa has worked for the company for over ten years and won ‘Employee of the Year’ in 2014. She has lived in Bridgwater all her life and what she doesn’t know about the town is unnecessary information!

Tom Hopkins

Tom has lived locally all his life and has already acquired a vast knowledge of sales and customer service skills. Prior to estate agency he worked in the recruitment sector. He is as passionate with his work as he is his sports, previously representing England Colleges Football. In his spare time he likes to go to the gym and relax with his wife Leanne.

Sue Dolding

Sue is one of Gibbins Richards' most long-standing employees and has worked for the company since the late 1990's. She is friendly and personable, and when past clients return, they are delighted to deal with Sue once again! Sue has lived in Somerset all her life and is a keen gardener and animal lover.

Rosemary Rudd
Viewings Negotiator

Having recently moved to the UK from South Africa, Rosemary is new to Estate Agency but has had a distinguished career in construction for the last 30 years. A published author, her main hobbies include painting, travel, reading and writing. She is a warm people person

Wellington Office

Sales Manager

An estate agent in Wellington for nearly 15 years, Claire is also the treasurer of her son's school and has terrific organisational skills. She has the ability to turn her hand to any aspect of agency, from valuing to admin, and from negotiating to marketing.

Senior Negotiator

Jane is also a long-term Wellington estate agent and knows more than her fair share of people and properties around the town. Employed on a part-time basis, she is an excellent sales negotiator.

A fresh face to the property industry, Libby brings with her an excellent knowledge of the town and many of its people. As a sales negotiator, Libby has tremendous enthusiasm and excels at offering excellent customer service and communication skills.

Marc has been an Estate Agent since 1983 and his passion for property remains as strong now as it did then. He is available to provide comprehensive advice on all your property needs.

Director of the business and Bridgwater born & bred. Simon is based in the Bridgwater office and lives on the outskirts of the town. A hands on Director, likely to visit your home for a property valuation. Simon has worked in the industry since 1994 and is beginning to show the grey hairs of experience!


David has a wealth of experience from 7 years within the lettings industry with both independent and corporate firms. He has a comprehensive knowledge of all factors of the business and is determined to exceed the expectations of all our clients both existing and new.


Christine is our second longest serving employee at Gibbins Richards and is the ‘back bone’ of lettings – responsible for administration, landlord and contractor payments, the creation of tenancy agreements and so much more!


Kayleigh our lettings sales negotiator has many years lettings experience in the local area. She brings all round knowledge of matching tenants to landlords and landlords to tenants.


Stephanie who lives locally is responsible for any maintenance issues on our managed portfolio. Highly professional and always cheerful, Stephanie brings with her a wealth of experience in the lettings sector with a dedication to customer service.

Levi Holland

Bridgwater born and bred, Levi is the Bridgwater lettings expert! Resident of the town, former Chilton Trinity School attendee and father of two young children, he will help you find your ideal 'Buy-to-let'.


Gemma has a wealth of experience in lettings and sales. In her spare time she is a volunteer with the RSPCA.


Sandra worked for The Bridgwater Letting Agency and following our recent acquisition of the business, joined ‘Team Gibbins Richards’ in 2017. Bridgwater born & raised, Sandra lives locally with her family. She cycles to and from work daily and participates in a regular keep fit class. When it comes to lettings, Sandra is the font of all knowledge!


Zoe has lived locally all her life and has worked in the industry for over a year. She has a great personality and is a very good problem solver, two key skills for her important role in lettings. In her spare time she likes to keep fit and bake , one needed to compensate the other! She enjoys socialising and a good bit of retail therapy.
