Gibbins Richards was formed in 1991 by two young and adventurous local estate agents. As well as a flagship office in Taunton, other branches were soon opened in Bridgwater and Wellington.

Since 2019 the sales division has been fronted by Directors Ben Grant and Nick Girone- Maddocks, both of whom have worked for the company for many years. The Residential Lettings division is still run by original Directors Marc Richards. We have a large team of long-serving and dedicated staff who work with us at Gibbins Richards. They are all highly professional experts in their field who each bring something unique to our business.

Directors

BEN GRANT
Director

Somerset born and bred, Ben first starting working in estate agency in the late 1990s and came to work for Gibbins Richards in 2003. He quickly progressed and became Sales Manager at the Bridgwater branch before coming company Director in 2019. Outside of work Ben is a keen cyclist with an active social life. Most of his spare time is spent with his wife Kate, daughter Orla and Italian greyhound Winnie.

NICK GIRONE-MADDOCKS
Director

Nick grew up in North Devon and started working as a trainee estate agent in the mid 1990s. He then moved to London to learn the trade and in 2000 moved to Somerset. He spent the last twenty years working for various companies before settling with Gibbins Richards in 2011. He is well known as a keen musician with a love of guitars, fishing and cycling. He is married to Layla and has two children Lilly and Rufus.

PAUL MAXWELL
Associate Director / Valuer

Paul is one of our longest serving members of staff who joined the company in 1994, Paul is a true expert in his field and a highly successful valuer with a complete knowledge of the Taunton property market. Paul gets a lot of repeat business and has moved several of our clients several times. In 2019, Paul became an Associate Director

LYNDON HEATH-COLEMAN
Sales Manager

Lyndon joined Gibbins Richards in 2010 having previously travelled the world. He spent his younger years in Taunton and attended the Castle School. Lyndon has a superb ability to match the right property to the right buyer, is a highly competent valuer and manager of the Taunton team. Lyndon has two children and is a keen footballer.

SALLY IBBOTSON
Senior Negotiator

Sally joined Gibbins Richards in 2002, she is highly customer service focused. Her many years experience means she is an excellent all rounder and often the choice estate agent to buyers and sellers alike. Sally has lived locally for many years, with her husband and twin daughters.

DONNA RICHARDS
Senior Negotiator

Donna joined Gibbins Richards in 2010 having worked for previous local agents beforehand. She is a highly experienced estate agent and a cheerful and enthusiastic member of our team. Donna is a naturally fantastic sales persons and takes great personal satisfaction from achieving the end result our clients need.

SHELLY FORD
Office Administrator

Shelly joined Gibbins Richards in 2007 and is one of our highly experienced administrators. Shelly is a vital part of our office success ensuring all written correspondence and property adverts are accurate and up-to-date. Shelly helps ensure all legislation is adhered to and things are ‘done the proper way’.

MICHELLE RELPH
Office Administrator

Michelle is one of our administrators and responsible for producing and up-dating any written correspondence/adverts as well as checking that all legislation is adhered to. As well as being a superb typist, Michelle is a wonderful and friendly person with great customer service skills.

MIKE MCSWIGGAN
Move Manager

Making homes move happen is the catch phrase of Mike our Taunton Move Manager. Mike’s job role is to progress your sale from sale agreed to completion and helping overcome any problems along the way. He will up-date you on a more than regular basis. Mike has been a valued member of the Gibbins Richards team for many years.

Jennifer Cox
Sales Negotiator

Jennifer joined Gibbins Richards as a trainee and quickly went from strength to strength. Jennifer lives locally and has an active social life. She has previous customer experience in sales and customer service and is a great asset to our team. Jennifer enjoys travelling and personal fitness.

Office Administrator

Lisa is a highly experienced administrator to the Bridgwater office and has worked for the company for 13/14 (?) years having previously worked as a conveyancing secretary for local Solicitors. She has lived in Bridgwater all of her life and enjoys spending her spare time with friends and family.

Tom Hopkins
Sales Negotiator

Tom has lived locally all his life and has acquired a vast knowledge of sales and customer service skills during his time at Gibbins Richards. Prior to estate agency he work in the recruitment sector. He is highly passionate about his work as he is his sports, previously representing England Colleges Football. In his spare time, Tom likes to go to the gym and relax with his wife and son.

Sue is one of Gibbins Richards most long standing employees and has worked for the company since the late 1990s, she is friendly and personable and when past clients return they are delighted to deal with Sue once again. Sue has lived in Somerset all of her life and is a keen gardener and animal lover.

Claire has been an estate agent in Wellington since 2003 and is a well known friendly face in the town. Claire has the ability to turn her hand to any aspect of estate agency from valuing to admin, from negotiating to marketing and is a brilliant all round Manager.

Having access to the whole of the mortgage market and working from a number of insurers he is best placed to give clients independent and comprehensive advice.

Outside of work Alastair enjoys an active social life and is a keen supporter of Taunton Town Football Club when family duties allow.

Financial Controller

Becky has worked in the accountancy field for all her working life. She looks after our financial affairs as well as our human resources functions. Becky is the backbone to our business. Our figures are her passion! She lives locally with husband Chris and daughter Bonnie.

We are really proud of Terry – he works tirelessly keeping our ‘For Sale’ and ‘Sold’ boards looking sharp across the three offices. He has worked with us for a number of years and also looks after our Taunton Independent market boards, and a number odd jobs that come up along the way.

David has a wealth of experience from 7 years within the lettings industry with both independent and corporate firms. He has a comprehensive knowledge of all factors of the business and is determined to exceed the expectations of all our clients both existing and new.

Christine is our second longest serving employee at Gibbins Richards and is the ‘back bone’ of lettings – responsible for administration, landlord and contractor payments, the creation of tenancy agreements and so much more!
