Bridgwater is gearing up for one of the most exciting festive days of the year — and we’re delighted to be right in the heart of the celebrations!
This Saturday, from 10am to 4pm, the town will come alive with flavours, festive fun and community spirit as the Bridgwater Food & Drink Festival takes over the town centre. As proud sponsors, we’re thrilled to help support an event that brings together some of the region’s best food and drink producers, makers and artisans.
And when the festival wraps up, the festivities are only just beginning…
At 6pm, Bridgwater will officially light up for Christmas with the Christmas Light Switch-On, followed by one of the town’s most iconic traditions — Squibbing on Bridgwater Town Bridge at 6:30pm.
A spark-filled finale to an already magical day!
It’s going to be a full day of food, fun, flavour, sparkle and Somerset community magic — the perfect way to kick off Christmas in Bridgwater.

🍹 Introducing… “Andrew’s Merry & Bright Christmas Punch”
A festive creation by Owner Andrew Lee
(Strictly for over-18s — see disclaimer below)
To add even more sparkle to the festivities, Andrew has created a delicious and wonderfully warming Christmas punch — perfect for seasonal gatherings with friends and family.
🎄 “Andrew’s Merry & Bright Christmas Punch” (Serves ~12 cups)
✨ Ingredients
Base
- 750ml prosecco or dry sparkling wine (chilled)
- 750ml cranberry juice
- 500ml cloudy apple juice
- 250ml orange juice
- 150ml spiced rum or brandy (optional)
Flavour Boosters
- 1 orange, sliced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- Fresh cranberries (optional)
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 6 cloves
- 2 star anise
- Fresh ginger slices (optional)
- Fresh mint (garnish)
Sweetener (optional)
- 2–4 tbsp maple syrup, honey or simple syrup
✨ Instructions
- Warm 250ml cranberry juice gently with spices for 10 minutes, then cool and strain.
- Combine the infused liquid with the remaining juices in a punch bowl.
- Add your chosen alcohol (if using).
- Add the chilled prosecco just before serving.
- Garnish with citrus slices, cranberries and mint.
🍏 Non-Alcoholic Version
- Swap prosecco for sparkling grape juice or soda water.
- Remove rum/brandy.
- Add extra apple juice and a squeeze of lime.
