More house sales reported

Further evidence that activity within the property market is
growing all the time has been reported by Agency Express.
The company's latest Property Activity Index found that more people
are deciding now is a good time to sell their homes.
It comes after both Nationwide Building Society and Halifax
suggested the value of housing was boosted during the month.
More properties were sold in May than at any other time in the last
12 months, according to the new study.
Agency Express bases its findings on the volume and activity status
of "For Sale" and "Sold" boards across the UK, and the latest
survey indicated that the number of "Sold" signs instructed by the
country's estate agents in May was up 1.7 per cent
month-on-month.
Stephen Watson, managing director of Agency Express, stated: "The
new Agency Express Property Activity Index is based on data
collected since January 2007 and shows that there are definite
signs of a recovery in the residential housing market."
